ALERT: Boko Haram regroups to launch another deadly attack

...Appeal to FGN to Support Civilian-JTF
ENDS has received credible information that after their defeat today in the hands of the Civilian-JTF and Nigerian army at Dalwa and Mafa, Boko Haram insurgents have regrouped to strike Maiduguri, capital of Borno again immediately.

SaharaReporters and NewsRescue late last week reported on Boko Haram's forces gathering to strike Maiduguri. Nigeria's army did not take an offensive posture. This is perturbing.

Maiduguri residents and the Nigerian army are advised strongly to be on full alert and prepared for the second leg of the war. It is hoped that this time the air force will go now and strike Boko Haram formations and not assume a defensive posture as has always been the case under the army command of CDS Alex Badeh and COAS Kenneth Minimah.

In the latest attacks the Civilian-JTF got all the praise for gathering in their thousands (totaling over 30,000) and being the determinant force that blocked the Boko Haram invasion. Borno state governor Shettima has commended the brave and patriotic youth.

While Civilian-JTF fighters from Gidari-Polo were stopped by the military from crossing the trenches around Maiduguri at Gidari in pursuit of Boko Haram fleeing terrorists, the Civilian-JTF volunteers from Gwange did not heed the advice of the military and over 2000 volunteers armed with local guns and swords crossed the trenches in pursuit of Boko Haram terrorists, killing many and capturing three while also capturing and destroying several APCs and other lethal weapons of the terrorists.

We ask, why is the Nigerian military aggressively maintaining a defensive posture; always allowing the terrorist the advantage of coordinated attacks, in spite of adequate warning and visual sightings of terrorist formations?

Locals have mentioned that the Chadian forces have the same weapons as the Nigerian army yet are able to decisively defeat Boko Haram insurgents in coordinated land and air attacks.

Jonathan Fails to Praise, Support Civilian-JTF
It is quite disturbing that for the three years of the existence of the Civilian-JTF, who have undeniably been existential in the defense of communities in Borno, Adamawa, Yobe and environs and who have continued to make the ultimate sacrifice of laying down their lives to defend the integrity of Nigeria, the Jonathan presidency has failed to acknowledge, commend and support these brave patriots.

Nigeria's Chief of Defense, Air Chief Alex Badeh in September of last year promised to convert them into a "professional fighting force," but far from this, the Civilians have not even been commended honorably by the Nigerian government, talk less supported. These brave patriots receive all the help they can get from locals and struggling organizations like ours.

We solicit the Nigerian government immediately make available the funds for rehabilitation of the north raised last August to the affected people and the brave fighting youth.

We also implore the Nigerian government immediately work through the army to safely arm these youth to defend their communities and wage decisive wars to defeat these terrorists who have continued to embarrass the nation and lead to unthinkable deaths and losses of property and livelihood in the billions of naira.

The Civilian-JTF can and are doing more than helping. They have been the line between victory and total defeat. It is time to support them.

Five More PDP Governors Decamping To APC

Former Ag. National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and now a Chieftain of the APC, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje has disclosed that five more governors of the party and their structures are joining the leading opposition party, APC, ahead of the 2015 general elections.

He disclosed that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was behind the proposal for an interim government if General Muhammadu Buhari won the Presidential election.

According to him, the ruling party has been planning many tricks including the postponement of the election, stressing that the APC will join Nigerians to reject such undemocratic action by the ruling party.

Baraje said it was honesty of purpose that has kept APC growing and accepted by the masses.

The APC chieftain, who did not disclosed the identity of the governors, stated this in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital while speaking with journalists to mark his 64th birthday.
He added that Nigerians are tired of deceit, manufacture of economy figures, and unfulfilled promises by the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

He commended INEC for extending the collection of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, saying the electoral body has been insisting on the election date and stressing that the APC members stand firmly with INEC’s position.

Baraje added that his party was strongly against the use of Temporary Voter Cards, TVCs, stressing that it was a gateway to election manipulation by the ruling party.

He urged Nigerians to vote for APC Presidential candidate on February 14, adding that the party stands firm on free, fair and credible elections.

Helicopters dropping More Arms and Food for Boko Haram

Displaced residents of Monguno, in Borno State, which was recently taken over by Boko Haram, have said they saw helicopters dropping arms and food items for the insurgents in the tick bushes.

The Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), who said they spent about 48 hours in the bush running towards the city of Maiduguri, expressed worry that the Boko Haram sect was not the only ones involved in the insurgency, but that there are many foreign fighters and some external supports.

Leader of the Nigeria Vigilante Group in Monguno, Muhammed Sani, said he had, on several occasions, spotted unusual delivery of items in big wooden boxes by air, and sacks being dropped in the bushes around Marte and Monguno where Boko Haram terrorists were camped.
“Even during the attack on Monguno, there was an aircraft that came but did not do anything, not even dropping a single bomb before it left; then another one later came around the Monguno barracks and we saw four men alighting from the aircraft, using a rope. The aircraft left, but we doubt if they were soldiers...

“Even before then, some of my colleagues and I have been sighting helicopters dropping items in sacks and some in boxes to them at the camp of Boko Haram near Chikungudu and Kwalaram villages. Many helicopters came to drop items packed in boxes and sacks to the Boko Haram insurgents at a bush camp between Monguno and Marte; then we would see the Boko Haram gunmen rushing to the spot to pick the dropped items,” he stated.

The displaced vigilante officials said those that attacked Monguno comprised hundreds of foreigners who looked like Chadians.

“Many of them looked like Chadian Arabs – they were light-skinned with coiled hair, and there were many young men from Monguno – who Boko Haram had abducted when Nganzai was attacked last year – that were now active members of the sect.

“While Boko Haram members that are former youths of Monguno were leading other insurgents to attack Monguno town, the foreigners were the ones engaging soldiers near the barracks,” he explained.

Sani, who said he had lived in Monguno for the past 20 years, said he fled amidst the hail of bullets when the terrorists became irritated by his anti-bullet charms that rendered bullets ineffective.
He claimed that his shirt and trousers were riddled by bullets, yet he remained unhurt.

Finally, Nigerian Soldiers Storm The Deadly Sambisa Forest

As part of measures to contain and quell the Boko Haram insurgency ahead of the general elections, Nigerian military has stormed the insurgents their notorious hideout in Sambisa Forest, according to reports from the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

The director of defence information, Maj-Gen Chris Olukolade, told the agency that the military had been raiding the forest and other hideouts of the sect.

According to the agency, the army used it war drones to level some of the Boko Haram camps in the northeast but it was not clear about the casualties on both sides. The army said that they are still committed to securing the civilian population at whatever cost.
Olukolade said, “We are still committed in ensuring that we degrade their ability to continue their activities and eventually eliminate them.
“The mission is on. There are no allowing terrorists anywhere. As many times as they come, it will only give us the opportunity to decimate them.”

A soldier involved in the operation said Chadian forces were working under the African Union agreement to help Nigeria in its fight against Boko Haram.

Sources close to the area have confirmed that aerial bombardment had commenced.

A soldier serving with the 7 Division, Nigeria Army, Maiduguri confirmed this development to Leadership even as he begged not to be quoted in this report.

According to him, “special forces have been mobilised from different part of the country, especially the 81 battalion, to Yola over the weekend and the operation starts today (Monday).

“What people may have heard or seen today may not be unconnected with the operation. They have to do the bombardment of the forest starting from the fringes before the artillery troops would begin to advance. But be rest assured that before the end of this week the forest as well as many communities under the control of Boko Haram would be reclaimed”.

The soldier said himself and most of his colleagues were happy with the resolution of the United Nations for agreeing to constitute an international joint task force to deal with the Boko Haram.

Patience Jonathan reacts to alleged N3b bribe from NNDC

First Lady Patience Jonathan has debunked media report alleging that she was paid N3 billion by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for facilitating the 2015 Budget of the commission.

According to the report, Mrs Jonathan collaborated with former Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike in a number of schemes that enable them loot the the NDDC dry.

But refuting the report, the First Lady in a statement by her media assistant, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi described the report as a hoax by the opposition targeted at misleading and recruiting unsuspecting Nigerians to portray her overbearing and meddlesome.

Adewuyi noted that the said report is “dubious, diversionary, unfair, unkind, and therefore totally unacceptable” because Dame Patience “did no such thing”.

The statement reads in part:
“We make bold to say that the piece is nothing but a hoax, aimed at misleading unsuspecting members of the public, recruit them into their hate campaign against the First Lady and to again portray Dame Patience Jonathan as an overbearing and intrusive woman against her well known passion for peace and advancement of the course of women and children in Nigeria.

"Nigerians are very conversant with the workings of the National Assembly regarding passage of Budgets. Parliamentary process requires that the Appropriation Bill goes through First Reading, Second Reading and Third Reading and subsequent harmonization by the two chambers.

“One then wonders at which level of this process the First Lady influenced the passage of NDDC Budget that warranted her being paid 3 billion Naira for the alleged “Consultancy” Therefore, it will be impossible for one single person to influence its passage or is the author trying to indict our law makers?”

Who would you trust on Feb. 14? Nigerians face a stark choice

Trust is a fragile thing. As a citizen of a nation, our trust in government allows us to feel safe; to go about our daily lives without the fear. Yet in Nigeria, insecurity is at an all-time high. This is a country in which 294 days ago, over 200 girls were ripped from the lives as they knew it and were left without recourse.
This is a nation where the epicenter of industry and commerce in its region, Maiduguri, is facing repeated, audacious attacks by a terrorist group insurgency.

Nigerians have the power to change that; to take the first step in protecting themselves. It is a permanent voter card, and it can be used to change the government and change the country's abysmal status quo. As Nigeria moves into the final days leading up to the election, this video release asks the question: who would Nigerians trust?
A man who has created our abysmal present situation, or a man who has proven security credential when dealing with terrorist incursion. Nigerians have a choice. Who should they trust?

Looks like some ladies who date married men are beginning to summon enough courage to come out open and defend their action. One of such ladies has opened up on her reason. Below is what she said:
I had a married man chase me for 3yrs, my boyfriend of 5yrs left me for no reason! None. Now I'm with the married man...

I feel bad but I won't say I'm with him for money cos I got my own money and loads. I come from a wealthy background but this man loves me and I have come to love him. I cry Every time cus I know it's bad.

I pray God forgives me daily and I wish I could find my own man cos that’s my prayer not another woman's.
So married women at times it's not our fault. But I make sure my man takes care of madam more than me. I insist and he does. God forgive us all. God forgive me.
 - Madam, if Oga is taking care of you more than the young girl outside, is that acceptable? Lolz!
